Kim Delaney is an American actress best known for playing Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won the Emmy Award. Delaney was born as the sole child of her mother who was a homemaker and an executive in the United Auto Workers. Delaney was a child with 4 brothers. The role she was given was that of an innocent child in the 1981 soap-opera All My Children. Delaney is an acclaimed actor who has appeared in many films, television dramas, and TV films. Her career as a professional has been better than her personal life. The accomplished actress battled the effects of alcohol and two marriages fail. In 2005 she lost the custody of her only son.
